Web performance gurus Gomez, Inc. just launched a new version of their point & click website recorder service and it’s running on SproutCore!
Gomez is a B-to-B company so most of us can just fiddle with the app, unfortunately. But if you’re lucky enough to work somewhere that uses Gomez, go give it a try. The team there did some great work.
(For the record: the Gomez Recorder is 0.9. I’ve had some great input from them while preparing 1.0 so I hope they’ll be able to come along to the new platform soon.)
In This episode we look at controllers and bindings.
The code used in this episode is avaliable on git hub:
github.com/geoffreyd/sproutcasts/tree/episode-003
In Episode 2, we cover the important concepts of Key-Value coding and Key-Value Observing. We do they by making a model, and exploring it’s properties.
Episode 1 of Sproutcasts, covers the basic layout of a new SproutCore application, what each file does, and how to get it all running.
UPDATE: When installing the gems, you will now need to install `jeweler` instead of `bones`. Also the rake command is now `sudo rake install` instead of `rake gem:install`
Geoffrey Donaldson has put together some excellent screencasts on SproutCore. They will be embedded here directly soon but in the meantime, you can get them from his Vimeo page.
